I was fishing for him to highlight what I did well.

“You fixed your hair,” he said.

My heart sank. The air in my emotional high seeped out with a loud deflating sigh.

“Oh, thanks.” I said half heartedly.

I hung up, dumbfounded.

I thought – this is what he is focused on? That is what is going to make me sales?

The fighter in me stepped in.
