I have to be honest with you. I haven’t felt like writing lately. So much has been going through my mind that I didn’t know where to start. So I defaulted to an old pattern of mine – withdraw.

You see, I had this rule that I made up. You can’t put yourself out there unless you have it all figured out. When things start to shift, I go within and stop showing up in my community consistently. I tell myself I don’t know what to say. Another default pattern of mine – confusion. It feels safe to say you are figuring it out and then stay in that place while you research. Research is great but it needs to be combined with ACTION. No hiding out while you’re researching. That is exactly what I was doing.

When I started my coaching business, I remember talking to my best friend, Emily, and telling her I wanted to name my business Core Connection Coaching because I believe that when we are connected to ourselves fully and deeply, we are able to transform our lives in every area in major ways.

She was studying for her Master’s in Counseling and she told me, I agree. She pointed to the plethora of research on the damage created when people don’t have any significant source of connection in their lives. This rang true for me.

As I started down the path of entrepreneurship, I lost that connection. I got sucked into all the strategy, branding, photo shoots, opt-ins, marketing hype. It started to suck the life out of me and my business. So I looked for the next strategy (definition of insanity, here, right?). And, of course, it didn’t work. Duh! I beat myself up. I felt bad about myself and my business.  I am a smart, hard-working intelligent woman and i couldn’t figure out why this wasn’t working for me.

I was tired and frustrated. I knew I needed to do something radically different: I needed to stop searching outside of myself, go within, and TRUST that I had the answer. I know this to be true. It is how I coach my clients – I help them uncover THEIR truth, THEIR way of being and doing their business, not mine, not some formula or cookie cutter prescription. Yet, for some reason, I didn’t always apply this to myself.

I was putting my power into other people’s strategies instead of taking what resonated with me and making it my own. It will never work unless it is true to me. I had lost my way. I am so happy to say that I found my way back. Thank God!

Now I get why I have been so drained the past few months. I’ve been experiencing this internal battle between what my soul, spirit, and intuition want to do and what my head wants to do. It’s exhausting! I have always been super analytical so it is no surprise that the head won out again and again. I am finding my way back to equilibrium – the place where the head has a very specific job to do once it has been directed by the soul and spirit. Therein lies the harmony. Each is needed. Each has a specific job to do. The problem was I gave the head all the power. And, it doesn’t work. I can certainly attest to that. As much as I love intellectual endeavors, they need tempering by the soul otherwise they leave you feeling empty inside. You’re doing all the things but it’s never enough and you never experience the return on all the time and energy you’ve invested.  So you feel deflated, burnt out, beat down.

Enough of that. Come back to the true you. Slow down. Listen to your heart’s longings. Then act on them. This is your gold here. This is when you shine – when the real, unfiltered, unapologetic, true you comes out. She knows who she is. She knows what she wants. She knows how to get it. She trusts her intuition. She does whatever it takes to run her business and her life HER way. And, HER way is Ah-mazing. Flow. Fun. Freedom. Money. Money. Money, Impact, and a whole lot of magic.

If this is speaking to you, I invite you to reach out to me to bring your business and life into alignment with your soul’s purpose, your heart’s desires, and the calling of your spirit.
