To succeed, planning alone is insufficient. One must improvise as well.

– Isaac Asimov

I went to a drop-in improv class last night and it was rich with life lessons. I wanted to pull out a notebook and write it all down. It was that good!

I wanted to share some of what I learned with you because it is incredibly relevant for everyday life.

Here are my top 5 tips for living well (taken from improv):

  1. If you don’t question yourself, no one else will either.
  2. Everything is interesting.
  3. Ensure you are clear in your intentions.
  4. Stay present.
  5. Slow down.

A note on the first point – if you’re not playing the ‘am I good enough, smart enough, educated enough, experienced enough, articulate enough’ game, no one else will entertain that story either. Get out there and be yourself. That is powerful.

Imagine what your day would be like if you embraced these tips. I have no doubt that it would improve your day dramatically.

My challenge for you today is to take one or more of these tips and apply them to your life.

Wishing you a day full of interesting things that catch your attention and slow you down.

To keeping it real,

Kori
