May what I do flow from me like a river, no forcing and no holding back, the way it is with children.
― Rainer Maria Rilke

This morning I decided to walk to the grocery store. There is a park along the way where I like to work out. As I was walking, I thought – why not throw in a quick park workout on the way to the store? It was exactly what I needed to wake up my body, clear my head, get the blood flowing, and help me feel strong. The walk in between served as my warm up and my cool down.

It made me realize there is always a way when we let go of how it’s supposed to be. There is always a way when we tap into what we really want. I wanted to move my body this morning but working out indoors was not appealing. Going for a run wasn’t calling my name either. Somehow working out on the way to the store made it easy – it was part of running errands. I didn’t have to take a big chunk of time out of my morning nor did I have to figure out how to schedule it later in the day. I simply spent 20 minutes working out in a small neighborhood park on the way to the store. Investing in myself through practices that make me feel good raise my vibration for the rest of the day. Afterwards, I am on a different energy plane – a higher one.

The trick is to make it easy. Make your practices flow with the rest of your activities for the day. Let ease be your new normal. Try it for one day. Notice what happens. Pay attention to how your energy shifts. Start making little adjustments here and there – throwing in a mini-workout while running errands, dancing to your favorite song in the middle of the day, getting up from your desk and stretching for five minutes, throwing some fruit and nuts in your bag before you leave the house, inhaling for a count of three and exhaling for a count of three when you start to feel anxious or stressed, catching a negative thought and immediately exchanging it for a positive one. These are small changes but over time they can result in big shifts. Investing in your mental, physical, and spiritual self is always worth it. You got this.

 Love,

Kori
