What are you avoiding by staying where you are? By choosing to stay in a place of confusion and uncertainty?

The truth is confusion feels safe. As long as you don’t know what you want, you don’t have to do anything. You get to stay where you are, and despite your complaints about it, it is familiar, which is more than you can say for the unknown should you make a change.

So you research, you read, you watch videos, which continues to keep you safe and stuck. Consumption is safe. Creation, action, is scary.

You are always creating your life – every element, every moment – by what you are choosing to do and not do. You choose to value the illusion of safety and security that staying where you are gives you more than you value making a change. Taking a risk into something new and unknown is scary because it threatens your current perception of who you are. When you decide to change, you have to let go of who you are and step into who you are becoming. You have to shed the old skin – the old beliefs, thoughts, patterns, and ways of being. It is not unlike a metamorphosis, which is extremely uncomfortable.

Getting back into alignment is an adjustment. It might hurt a little at first, but afterward, you notice you are walking taller, your posture has improved, and you are carrying yourself with grace and poise.

What will bring you back into alignment is speaking your truth, however scary and uncomfortable it may feel. It means honoring yourself and trusting yourself. It means calling your power back and owning that YOU know what you want. When you let all the noise fade away and sit with yourself and tell yourself you will not abandon yourself ever again, you begin to hear your soul speaking to you once again.

This is a continual process. You don’t get adjusted one time. You adjust again and again by asking yourself, is that true? It is absolutely true that I don’t know what I want? When was a time I did know what I wanted? How did that feel? How would it feel to know, with absolute faith and clarity, what I want all the time?

Then ask yourself, Will this allow me to rise to my highest calling and fullest self-expression? Will this light me up?

Now, you must ACT on that knowing, even if it’s as simple as I want to go for a walk. The process of learning to trust yourself again is similar how it works in a relationship. You have to earn that trust. How you do that is to honor your inner guidance. When you get that sense or feel that nudge to do something, GO do it. Right away. Do NOT analyze it or disregard it. It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t have to.

Let go of the need to see how it’s all connected. Your only job is to follow your soul’s calling, no matter when, no matter how inconvenient, no matter what. This is what will bring you back to you and back to trusting yourself.  And then you will be able to say, clearly and confidently: This is what I want. This is who I am. This is what I am doing. This happens now. I don’t care how silly or foolish this looks or feels. I will do whatever it takes to honor my vision, my values, and my dreams, no matter what.
